CHILDREN IN WORSHIP: We understand that having small children in an hour long service can be difficult. If you need to take your child out during the 8:00 am service we ask that you use the cryroom, the conference room, hallways or fellowship hall, all of which are equipped with speakers so you can hear the service. Little Lambs (a nursery for children ages 0-3 years) is staffed during the Sunday school hour (9:30 - 10:30) and the 10:45 am service in the room at the west end of the fellowship hall. Please feel free to bring your child to the nursery anytime during these hours. Questions may be directed to Patty Starke.
FLOWERS: The flowers on the altar today were given in praise and glory to God by Ray and Bernice Stewart in honor of Ben and Mary Burson’s anniversary (7/16/1945).
BAPTISM: This afternoon in a private ceremony, Kaylee Pearl Timmerman, infant daughter of Brian and Kristal Timmerman, will be received into God’s family through Holy Baptism. We rejoice with her parents over the forgiveness showered on her in this sacrament.
DEDICATION: The building dedication of Living Word Lutheran Church will take place today at 4:00 pm. A meal will follow. The church is located at 918 2nd Street in Marble Falls (corner of 2nd Street and Avenue J).
WOMEN’S LUNCHTIME BIBLE STUDY: This Bible study has been canceled for the summer.
MEN’S BIBLE BREAKFAST: This weekly get-together will help get your day off to a good start. We meet each Wednesday at 6:30 am at Jim’s Restaurant on the northwest corner of Burnet Road and 183. We’ll be looking for you!
NEWCOMERS’ CLASS: Our newcomers’ class will meet on Tuesday, July 20 at 6:30 pm. We will begin a new class on Tuesday, August 10. If you are interested in taking this class, please sign up in the hallway.
WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY: Wednesday morning Bible study takes place at 10:00 am, here at church. Please join us.
ECO GROUP CLASS: An additional class to practice English in a group setting is being offered on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please contact Jocelyn Connell if you are able to help with childcare.

THURSDAY SPANISH BIBLE STUDY:
Led by Vicar Bowe, Thursday night Bible studies are held completely in Spanish from 6:30-7:30 pm. Dinner is served to ECO students and their families. Please see Jocelyn Connell if you would like to be put on rotation to provide a meal for this Bible study. Cooks need not be present to serve.
YOUTH IN CHRIST: The next meeting is Wednesday, July 21, at 7:00 pm at the White’s home.
HOLY WORD WOMEN’S STUDY: This Bible study takes place on Tuesdays, with fellowship at 6:00 pm and Bible study at 6:30 pm. It is held at Tanya Kalbach’s home (2206 Settler’s Park Loop, Round Rock, 78665), and onsite babysitting will be available. Call Tanya Kalbach (248-1552), Chris Gebert (512-554-7407) or Bobbi Franke (512-689-7005) for questions.
CHURCH COUNCIL: The Church Council will on Monday, July 26, at 6:30 pm.
YIC OUTING: Youth in Christ will have an outing on Lake Travis on Wednesday, July 28 from 2:30-7:30 pm. This will be their farewell to Vicar Bowe and seniors and welcome to incoming freshmen. Cost is $20.00. Please RSVP to Cindy White (248-0300 or 925-5583).
TEACHER INSTALLATION: On Sunday, August 1, Nicole Wendt will be installed into her new calling as an elementary school teacher at Calvary Lutheran School. The service will take place at Calvary Lutheran Church, Dallas, at 6:00 pm, with a meal following. Please sign up in the hallway if you will be able to attend.
SOCCER BIBLE CAMP: Soccer Bible Camp is scheduled for August 2 – 6, from 9:00 – 11:30 am. It will take place at Wells Point Park Soccer Complex in Pflugerville. Participants must be entering into Kindergarten to entering into grade 6 in the fall of 2010. Application forms are on the table in the hallway.
FUNDAY: On Saturday, August 7, from 9:00 am – noon, Holy Word will have its annual Funday. Come join in the fun and games! If you have gently used small toys (or new) to donate for prizes, you can drop them off in Chad White’s office.
VICAR’S FAREWELL: On Sunday, August 8, following the second service, we will have a dinner in honor of Vicar Bowe, who will be leaving soon. Please sign up in the hallway if you wish to sttend.
WOMEN’S RETREAT Our Savior Lutheran Church in San Antonio invites the ladies of Holy Word to their Women’s Retreat. It will take place September 10 – 12 at T Bar M in New Braunfels. The topic is: “Who Am I in Christ?”
Rev. Dave Schneider, pastor of Cross of Christ in Universal City, will be the guest speaker. Registration and payment must be in by August 15. They will have to release hotel rooms after that date. Registration forms and other information can be found on the table in the hallway.
NEEDED FOR KINDERGARTEN: Detergent boxes (40-42 load size) are needed for the beginning of Kindergarten in August. If you have any to donate, you may leave them on the shelf next to Mrs. Alff’s classroom.
FORWARD IN CHRIST: The August issue of Forward in Christ is available in the narthex and in the hallway.
