February 23, 1969

First church service held at Canterbury Chapel of the Episcopal Student Union near the University of Texas at Austin campus.

October 5, 1969

The official name “Holy Word” was chosen.

September 1970

5.3-acre tract at 10601 Bluff Bend Drive purchased.

June 20, 1971

Pre-owned portable building converted into worship area and dedicated.

September 2, 1973

Groundbreaking for first permanent worship facility.

February 24, 1974

First sanctuary dedicated.

March 1999

Groundbreaking for new sanctuary to meet growing needs.

June 2002

Current worship facility dedicated.

Holy Word Christian Academy & Hannah’s World History

Fall 1974

Holy Word Christian Academy opened with 15 children enrolled.

January 11, 1981

Groundbreaking for fellowship/school facility.

September 6, 1981

Fellowship/school facility dedicated.

2016

Holy Word Christian Academy closed; educational efforts moved to Pflugerville and Liberty Hill.

June 2016

Mother’s Day Out program began in former classrooms.

August 8, 2018

Hannah’s World opened as a Christian childcare center.
